Pumpkin Par-Tay Too

Last night, we had another pumkin par-tay!! This time, we went hard core! Jack-O-Lanterns, Baby!

We had a super-special guest to share in the festivities...
JW was all set to help Jordan...however, this would be the only time he would stick his hand inside the pumpkin. He was unable to cope with the pumpkin goo!!

Little Miss Priss had her own special pumpkin to paint!
In order to show JW that she was more NINJA than he is, Glory not only stuck her hand in the goo, she then proceeded to stick the goo in her mouth!! She was a little disappointed in the flavor!!
Here, Uncle James is writing "I'm afraid of the pumpkin goo" on JW's forehead! We are obviously a very compassionate crew!

Lexie's "Bubba Jack"...
JP picked the HARDEST PATTERN IN THE BOOK! While everyone else was carving, she was still poking holes in the pattern!
I couldn't figure out how to turn off the flash to get a really cool glowing picture; so, this is the only after I have. Hopefully, I can get a better shot tonight because they all turned out so cool!

Pumpkin Painting Par-tay

We managed to squeeze in a little pumpkin painting party before we left last week. Somehow, dragging out paint offers hours of quiet entertainment. Which means we will now be scheduling pumpkin painting as a weekly activity at our house!

One day, my children will wonder why in EVERY photo we have of them, they are making these faces. And, sadly, I will no longer remember that they purposefully made these faces and thought that they were super hilarious.

Check out Emma's ability to focus...
...and the other three too!

There is even peace as their arms must cross paths in order to maintain their perfectly thought out artistic interpretations!

And the results???

Abbee is demonstrating the bipolarity of her little pumpkin friend! Both freaky and friendly! Just the combo I prefer in my pumpkins!!
And so goes another night of fallish Halloweeny fun!!

Family Fright Night

Thursday, Leigh had the spooktacular idea to do a Halloween themed family night filled with tons of fun for the kids!

The night began with some face painting. Glory enjoyed painting my face as I struggled to paint her ever-squirming mug! (There is possible scarring from the force with which she dug her brush into my cheek.)
I painted three faces in the time it took Leigh to paint ONE!
Which might explain why her results were so much better!

Sarah's contribution turned Abbee into an eerie reproduction of Heath Ledger's Joker...Glory RAN FROM HER after this transformation!
Later, the kids each decorated their own "mummy" cupcakes. When they saw my Martha-esque examples, JP thought they were ghosts and JW suggested zombies. I'm not sure what the difference between a zombie and a mummy is exactly, but I'm certain that they did not resemble zombies. Zombies are just creepy. Emma and Abs revived my wavering pride when they each guessed correctly!

Glory had a meticulous cupcake decorating approach that alternated between squeezing the frosting and licking the tip! YUM!

Here are the fabulous results:

We were a little ambitious in our plans and ran out of time and energy before we painted and carved our pumpkins! At least we still have a couple of weeks before Halloween!

Here are a few other random pics from our night of fright:

A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO AUNT LEIGH FOR HER DOWN RIGHT AWESOMENESS!!

Everybody Was Swine Flu Fighting!

These two precious girls went to the same doctor's office today.
Got issued the same masks. And, unfortunately got the same diagnosis: FLU. Yep! Us too!

The Dog Who Stole My Heart

As pets go, I'm the type that would really just prefer that OTHER PEOPLE own them! Don't get me wrong. I love animals and, for the most part find them quite fascinating! It's just that I CANNOT STAND their "makings" in my yard, their hair on my floors, or their slobber on my face (Callie Williams!).

It completely grosses me out!

That said, I am completely in love with Max! I just can't help it. He makes me laugh with his mischievousness and I cannot help but adore the way he longs for my attention like a toddler for his mommy!

Just look at how regal he looks as he dies to get out of the car at the farmer's market!

Today, he somehow managed to find his way into JP's dirty clothes hamper!!

And, then tried to look innocent!

I try to hate him, but I can't! I surrender. I'm officially a pet owner who annoys others with her stories about her dumb dog!
