Letter for Lexie

Lexie and Emma have been corresponding via snail mail since the conjoined friends were separated late summer. This week, Emma was super excited to get a sparkly pink envelope in the mail. She knew immediately it was from her pen-pal Lou! I'm not sure if this is an unforgivable breach of confidence, but Emma's response was so cute, I had to share it. (I tried to keep it unedited; however, a few periods were necessary during her edge-of-your-seat depiction of Max's near death experience! My additional commentary is denoted by brackets!)

Dear Lexie,
I am so exited too! I'm going to see you in two weeks! Homeschooling is going good. I love it. My favirite subject and longest is Math. What I like most is when Math is over. It's sooooooo long. I miss you soooo much too. How is school going? Do you like it? Does Cali have a broken bone? Do you like Chicogo? Have you made any friends? One day Max got out the door. He went across the street and I went to go get my Mom. She came and and said Max come. He came and was about to get ran over. He was about this close [she drew two lines really close together!!] but he is okay girf. [I was informed by the author that "girf" means girl! But you must say it with a little attitude!] Oh one more question did your hand hurt at the end of that letter? Mine did. [P.S.] What do you get when you mix a poodle and a chicken? cockapoodle doo! ha ha doo doo!

That girf makes me smile...and smiling's my favirite!
