Angels Unaware

I'm pretty sure I'm not so good at this blogging thing. I feel now like it's another thing I need to take care of ...like exercising, eating right, cleaning out a closet...those things I rarely do but manage to feel guilty about not doing. Who invented clean closets anyway? Whoever it was did not share a closet with Wes!

The only exciting thing I have to report is that Emma was nearly run over at the crosswalk Wednesday morning before school (I'm not sure but it looked a lot like Crystle Guthrie's tahoe...not that I'm blaming her...it was definitely negligence on the part of the crossing guard and naivity on the part of the kindergartener!)

Anyway, the point is, had Abbee not grabbed her backpack and pulled her back, Emma would have been hit by a large SUV. I can't even allow my mind to go there.

I really felt the protection of God that morning even though it was through a big sister who was paying attention to what was going on. It made me stop and think about all the near misses that occur in our lives and how God protects us from so many dangers unknown to us. I have no idea how it all works...why sometimes horrible accidents occur and sometimes a quick reaction from a 7 year old prevents a catastrophe... but I do know that, in that moment, I knew that God was watching over my kids when I was looking helplessly on from the inside of my vehicle. For that, I am so thankful.

  1. You may think that God was looking out for Emma, but I think God was trying to tell you you have too many kids. It's all about interpretation.

Blogging can get redundant and be a chore. But it is also a good place to store ideas and communicate with others. Ideally, one of these days, we'll have a community of bloggers, all blogging and sharing their stories and thoughts and lives on these things, and we'll all be closer because of it. We'll know each others lives/minds more intimately without having to spend all that precious time together. I think it can work, we just need more people to share the experience, which is why I'm on a blogging crusade.

  2. You're right...I do have too many kids! But I'm kind of attached to them now so I'd rather not watch one of them get sqashed!!

As for the blogging crusade, I'll keep bloggin' on just for you!!! May the wind be at your back and the sun on your face!!!
