Psalm 40:16-17

But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, 'Great is the Lord!'
As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!

  3. Shellee,

    As I walked through the neighborhood yesterday looking at our new eagle monument and Eagle Springs park, I was reminded of the following verse:
    Isaiah 40:31
    "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
    and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."

    You know, eagles are actually carried to higher elevations by storms. The stronger the wind, the more forceful the storm . . . the eagles let that storm come under their wings and raise them up to a higher elevation. You see a lot of birds that fly by flapping their wings. Eagles don’t flap their wings. They soar above the storms. Christ alone is our source to soar above the storms. It doesn’t mean we don’t experience storms—the disappointments, the trials, the heartaches, the hurts, the long, hard days that seem like they’ll never be over. It does mean though that we have the supernatural strength to "soar" above these storms, strength that we find only in Our Heavenly Father. I am thinking about all of you and praying for you asking God to give you the soaring wings of an eagle and to carry you above this storm.
