Although I purchased enough material to recover both, once I completed the chair, I thought both done in the same pattern might be too much. With 4 kids, 3 adults, and one black-haired shedding beast living here, I also thought it best to slip cover the ottoman (as opposed to re-upholstering it) so that I could easily wash it when necessary.
I bought a large painter's drop cloth instead of fabric (which saved time and money!) and got to work. I used the hemmed edges of the drop cloth at the bottom of the skirt so that I wouldn't have to hem them myself!! The rest just involved measuring, cutting, and sewing it all together.
And, here's the finished product...
The cutesy tray was just for the picture. Due to the 4 kids, 3 adults, and shedding beast mentioned above, we all know that cutesy is not very practical!
